FATHER AND SONS TEAM UP
For as many things as he does, Greg Young has to be one of the most calm, cool, and collected volunteers we have here at Northwest Community Television. Although I think Greg might beg to differ with me on that, he has me fooled.
This ambitious volunteer produces two shows here at NWCT, "Resurrecting Your Faith" and "The Bible Q & A." "Resurrecting Your Faith" cablecasts Sunday services at the church. "The Bible Q & A" branches off "Resurrecting Your Faith" and comes to life in the studio. Greg says the idea for the second show came from the apostle at the church. Together they formed "The Bible Q & A" to allow viewers to write in asking questions about the Bible that didn't get answered during the Sunday sermon. A team of people from the church get together with these questions and form a theme for each show to get the questions answered.
Greg couldn't do all this on his own he claims, and he gives credit to his two teenage sons, Khari and Kahlil, who he says have a real keen sense of technology and often teach him things. Khari is the muscle and right-hand man to Greg, helping load, unload and set up the equipment. Kahlil takes on a technical role editing "The Bible Q & A" by importing the footage, adding titles and credits, and exporting to DVD for playback. They tag team edit on Tuesday nights—Greg is in a linear edit suite editing "Resurrecting Your Faith" while the boys are in a nonlinear room editing "The Bible Q & A." Greg also gives a lot of credit to members at the church who help with equipment setup and taping.
Greg says he is going to keep producing these shows as long as God tells him to and so far he says he hasn't heard not to. Despite his busy schedule producing two shows, Greg has even more shows in mind!
Resurrecting Your Faith is on Channel 19 every Thursday from 9:30pm to 10pm (replays Friday at 3:30am, 9:30am and 3:30pm). The Bible Q & A is on Channel 19 every Friday from 7pm to 7:30pm (replays Saturday at 1am, 7am and 1pm).
